Tales of Hilldrop Crescent 

 

Come along to the Hilldrop Walking Art Group Exhibition on Saturday 7th March between 2pm and 5pm.

The event will display the work of the Walking Art group inspired by Hilldrop Crescent, together with the photographic portraits and recordings of local people's stories. 

Join us for refreshments and enjoy the fabulousness.

Mending 101: Learn to Stitch, Fix and Revive Your Clothes

Saturday 7th March 10am-12pm & Sunday 8th March 11am-1pm

Start your sewing journey here at Mending 101, a fun hands-on workshop teaching you how to tackle everyday clothing repairs.

This session is designed with beginners and experienced seamsters alike!

The only thing you need to brin is any clothing you need to repair. During the workshop, you'll learn five essential repair skills that will help you keep your favourite clothes in the game for the longer. More details here

Branching Out - Nature Wellbeing Walks 

 

We’re excited to announce the launch of a new series of local nature wellbeing walks! 

The Hilldrop Hike, was a great success. There is now a full programme of walks planned over the coming months. The walks will rotate between the Octopus Community Plant Nursery, Whittington Park Community Centre, and Hilldrop Community Centre.

Start times vary from 10:30am - 2:30pm depending on date.

Join us for our Christmas Family Craft Session, where we'll be hosting a wreath making workshop with Islington Adult Community Learning.

Public talk and debate "Visualising Women in the Justice System through Public Art"
 

On Thursday 7th November, Community Plan for Holloway Trustee Rose McDonald and artist and campaigner Niki Gibbs will be speaking at an event being held to explore how to record the stories and safeguard the legacy of the women of HMP Holloway for future generations. There will also be speakers from Peabody and their consultants, Create London, who will talk about the ongoing programme to create public artworks for the Holloway site. There will be time for questions and answers and everyone's welcome.  

This is an in-person event and we'd love to see you there. The event is being held by Create London in collaboration with Peabody and is free, however you need to book a place through Visualising Women in the Justice System through Public Art Tickets, Thu, Nov 7, 2024 at 6:30 PM | Eventbrite
